In 2008 we were drawn to the amazing Adirondack and Bristol Valley views and purchased our home with an already established, originally 1930s planted, apple orchard on Monkton Ridge in Monkton, Vt. The following year our son was born and with him began the Yates Family Orchard operation. We started with a small pick your own farm stand, pressing our own cider and making orchard jams. We also offered our neighbors local raw honey from Heavenly Honey Apiary and Maple Syrup from Maple in Vermont.
In 2017 we purchased an additional portion of the orchard and took over the IPM-Integrated Pest Management of the orchard. We use a variety of practices to manage pests and disease to reduce spray with the goal to produce the most ecological and environment friendly fruit.
With the additional acreage we have expanded our operation to include more apple varieties, pears, plums, cherries, raspberries, and peaches. Please stop into the orchard stand to find all our previous treats and enjoy hot, made to order cider donuts, Vermont All Natural Creamees, pies, baked goods, various artisan crafts, our signature Dreamee®- a hot, fresh made cider donut with Vermont maple soft serve ice cream on top, Vermont Specialty Products and so much more!
